Everyone on the team tees off. The team picks the best of those shots, and all of them play their next shot from there — repeat until the ball is holed. One ball, one score per hole, however many players are on the team.
It is the friendliest format in golf: nobody has a card of their own to wreck, a beginner contributes a putt now and then, and a four-hour round stays four hours. Which is why society days, charity days and corporate days are almost always scrambles.
Texas Scramble is the usual variant: each player's drive must be used a minimum number of times — often three or four across the eighteen — so one long hitter cannot carry the whole round.
Worth saying plainly before you go looking for it in the create wizard. Every format Eagle Sheet plays today asks for a score per player per hole; a scramble has one score per team, which is a different kind of scorecard rather than a different way of adding one up.
It is on the radar as a premium format. Until it lands, the two approaches below run a scramble properly, with live scoring and share links working as normal.
A scramble does not distribute strokes by Stroke Index the way Stableford and Stroke Play do. A team gets one allowance, worked out as a fraction of its members' handicaps — a common set is 20/15/10/5% of each player's handicap for a four, and 35/15% for a pair, lowest handicap first.

A pairs scramble fits the app as it stands. On the round's draw, put the two players on a board, pair them, and turn on best ball. Then only one partner enters the shared ball — the pair's result is that ball, hole by hole, because best ball takes the best score anyone on the side posted and the other partner posts nothing.
This is the better approach, because nothing is faked: both players are real entrants, both appear in the standings, and both carry the pair's result. Pairings hold two players, so a bigger scramble team needs the other approach: enter the team as though it were a single player. Name it for the team — “The Hackers”, “Rutherford & Co” — give it the team allowance as its handicap, and enter the shared ball as that player's score.
Four teams become four “players” on one card, and the leaderboard ranks the teams correctly in any format you like. The cost is that the individuals are not on the card by name, so nobody gets a player card and the team is one line on the roster rather than four.
A scramble day mixes into a multi-round event like any other format, as long as the event scores rounds on position points — they turn each round's result into the same currency, so a scramble Friday sits between an individual Thursday and a match-play Saturday and all three add up.
Do not put one in a cumulative totals event. Nothing will stop you — a scramble day is set up as Stableford or Stroke Play like any other, so the app sees a round it already knows how to add up. One score per team per hole, entered once by whoever is keeping the card. A proper team allowance worked out from the members' handicaps instead of typed in by hand. And the Texas minimum-drives rule tracked on the card, so nobody is counting on their fingers at the 16th. Until then, the approaches above are honest scoring — they just leave the handicap maths to you.
